A fresh start for Travel Wander’s website

For Singapore active-holiday business Travel Wander, upgrading an older website was no simple step. A fresh WordPress build was judged the more cost-effective route at the time, and Coper revamped and rebuilt the website.

The decision behind the work

Keep upgrading, or start afresh?

The question was whether to keep carrying the old setup forward or put that effort into a fresh website. The difficulty of upgrading the existing modules shaped the decision.

The upgrade constraint

Continue the old upgrade

The original website ran on an older PrestaShop version. Its modules were difficult to carry forward into an upgrade, making the upgrade less straightforward than it might sound.

The chosen route

Start afresh in WordPress

The chosen route was a fresh WordPress build rather than an upgrade of the older installation. Coper revamped and rebuilt the website.

The business behind the website

Meet Travel Wander

Travel Wander is a Singapore business for active holidays. Its trips are for people who like to get out and explore: cycling, hiking and journeys with a taste of local culture, with guided and self-guided options in its catalogue. A visitor may arrive with a destination in mind, an activity they enjoy, or simply the idea of a different kind of holiday. Before speaking to the team, they need to understand what is on offer and what a trip involves. That makes the website part of the customer conversation: a place to explore, get a feel for an experience and decide what to ask next.

01 · Visitor journey

Find a trip that feels right

For an active holiday, the type of experience matters as much as the destination. The current catalogue gives visitors several ways to begin exploring, rather than asking them to know a particular trip name.

  • Activity choices include cycling, hiking and self-guided trips, alongside season, country and grade controls.
  • For a business with a varied offer, this structure can help explain the range before the first conversation.

02 · Visitor journey

Understand the trip before asking about it

A photograph can make a place appealing. Practical detail helps someone decide whether the trip suits them. The current page brings its overview, activity grade and itinerary together, with further details in tabs.

  • The itinerary describes the journey; separate tabs identify inclusions, exclusions and important notes.
  • Putting that information together can give the traveller more specific questions to bring to the team.

03 · Visitor journey

Start the conversation with a particular trip

The current trip page offers enquiry and booking choices. Its WhatsApp links include the trip name and page URL, connecting the next conversation to the experience the visitor has been considering.

  • The visitor has a clear next step after reading about a trip, rather than having to search for contact details.
  • For the business, this is a way to connect website browsing with a conversation about a specific offer.
